The Village has curbside pickup as of April 1, 2022. Garbage containers are to be placed near or at curbside adjacent to or on the driveway. Each street has two (2) designated “garbage” days of the week. Garbage must be out on the scheduled pickup day no later than 6 a.m. and visible. Garbage must be placed in closed bags in containers with covers, containers are not to exceed 65 gallons in size nor exceed 60 pounds in total weight per container. Maximum of three (3) containers per household with Village approved stickers. If additional trash containers are needed, extra coded stickers are available for an annual fee at Village Hall.
GARBAGE: The term “garbage” shall be held to mean normal and usual kitchen and household waste, primarily perishable or disposable items such as leftover food matter, food packaging and wrappers; and paper towels. However, notwithstanding any other provision, the term “GARBAGE” SHALL NOT INCLUDE ANY DESIGNATED RECYCLABLE ITEM.
Trash (bulk items) are picked up on the second day pickup with your regular garbage and must also be placed at the curb. Please limit “bulk” items to no more than 5 items. If you have in excess of 5 items, please make arrangements with the Carter to have the items removed. You can reach Carlo Minuto Carting at (845) 353-5678.
TRASH: The term “TRASH” shall be held to mean the following: Any item of solid waste not encompassed within the definition herein of garbage, which is non-toxic and includes any worthless or discarded objects that you plan to throw out. Said items include discardable household items of a durable nature; garden, yard, and lawn waste such as grass clippings, leaves and tree branches; ashes and other refuse resulting from the burning of wood and/or coal for heating purposes.
