NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday April 17,2024, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard at the Dr. Jeffrey Oppenheim Community Center, 350 Haverstraw Road, Montebello, NY 10901 to consider adopting Local Law No. 2 of 2024, amending Chapter 42, Alarm Systems, entitled:
“A LOCAL LAW AMENDING CHAPTER 42, ALARM SYSTEMS, TO INCREASE THE PENALTIES FOR OFFENSES TO DETER FALSE ALARM CALLS; AND TO EXPAND THE ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY TO OTHER OFFICERS WITHIN THE VILLAGE“
thus, amending Chapter 42 of Village Code, as more particularly set forth in said Local Law, but summarized as follows:
The penalty section is amended to provide for an initial warning for the first offense, with increasing penalties for the second and subsequent offenses.
In addition to the Police Department, the Building Inspector, Assistant Building Inspector, and Code Enforcement Officer may issue appearance tickets for offenses.
All interested parties are invited to attend. The proposed law will be available for inspection and review at the Village Office during normal working hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm as well as on the Village of Montebello website www.villageofmontebello.org.
