MONTEBELLO NEW CLEAN ENERGY PROGRAM: Renewable Energy at Competitive, Fixed Rates
Online Info Sessions in May & June: Get Answers to Your Questions
Montebello is beginning the process to possibly participate in an innovative clean energy program. In November 2020, a new clean energy program launched in six Rockland municipalities: Clarkstown, Orangetown, the three Nyack villages, and the Village of Haverstraw. Seventeen months later, the program has delivered over $3.6 million in cost savings to participants in the six communities. This program will renew in the fall. Five new communities are considering to join the program, including Montebello, Suffern, Piermont, West Haverstraw, and Grand View-On-Hudson.
The Rockland Community Power program provides renewable electricity supply at competitive, fixed rates, with no contracts for consumers. The program has also had a measurable positive environmental impact. The program gives each of us a way to reduce our carbon footprint, while capping electricity supply rates. Rockland Community Power is a Community Choice Aggregation program.
