On September 15th, the Village residents will be voting on a bond issue for the Village of Montebello. This bonding issue will be used exclusively for road reconstruction within our village.
The current bonding proposal will allow us to cover the full cost of paving 26 roads all of which are at the end or near end of their life-cycle, and 12 of which were just done as funded by a Bond Anticipation Note (BAN) which will be paid off and included in the bond. Given that, and that all other debt service will be paid off in 2021, servicing the Bond will not necessitate an increase in taxes and will strengthen the financial position of the village.
